The third exhibition of the Mitsukoshi Isetan Japaese painting exhibition, which I am an organizer, has begun at the Mitsukoshi Honten Art Gallery. There are huge responses every year. It goes on till September 9th.
Tokyo Gendai was held. This is the second exhibition of the international art fair held in Japan for the first time in 30 years. Many people were in attendance, including the U.S. Ambassador to Japan. When people see my work, people no longer refer to it as Japanese painting or Japanese, and it feels like a world away.
Senju will be exhibiting from Sundaram Tagore Gallery.
I spoke at the ACUNS (Academic Council of United Nations Systems) Annual Meeting, held in United Nations University in Tokyo. The theme of the speech was "the Peace and the Arts".
I have started working on new byobu painting. I will work on it for months.

I visited the Isamu Noguchi Museum. I hope that the Hiroshi Senju Museum Karuizawa will one day become a beloved museum like his is. The Noguchi Museum is not located in the most convenient place but so many young people visit. I am most surprised with the quality of each work.
The new work is nearly complete. The colors were inspired by the treasures of Shoso-in.
