Based on my sketch, I am working on the piece while considering the actual mountain range of Mt. Asama (Hotokeiwakazan).
Based on the drawings I outlined of the mountains, valleys and hills, I crumple the Mulberry paper and apply paint. I want to create energy that is beyond human power.
As I create Hotokeiwa and Hotokeiwa volcano, it is almost as if I am creating the earth.
I am thinking about volcanic activity from multiple tens of thousands of years ago as I spray the powder pigment. I am filled with the image of a volcano.
