Traveling with Mr. Shigeho Shinagawa, the Chairman of U-Can Inc, in and around Mt. Asama, an active volcanic mountain. Karuizawa Hiroshi Senju Museum was established from his collections.

Back in NY studio, I am looking through my sketches for a dynamic expression that will be the core of the work.
I am considering which pigments to use to express the eerie feel and majestic character of a volcanic mountain.
Since the 'Waterfall on Colors' series, my choices for color have dramatically expanded. How can I express the reality of a planet called Earth, floating in a cosmic atmosphere? I am interested in what should be the color of the background.
