I held a special lecture on Japanese Painting at the Japan Art Academy. Many members and master artists from various organizations attended. It was a rare opportunity to talk about the potential of Japanese painting in the world directly to those we attended. A commemorative solo exhibition was also held at the same time.
The Dojima Children's Art Award ceremony was held. I was a judge along with Mr. Yoichi Inoue, Director of Nara National Museum.
I gave special lecture at the Japan Fine Art Exhibition (Nitten), introduced by Chairman, and a sculptor Mr. Miyata Ryohei. I talked about the role of Nitten in the postwar period. I also spoke about the works of my mentors, Sugiyama Yasushi and Takayama Tatsuo, Okuda Genso, and Higashiyama Kaii, with whom I had a connection.
A solo exhibition at Sundaram Tagore Gallery is being held until December 11th. The exhibition features a variety of waterfalls, including works with colors that are conscious of historical roots of Japanese color, and works that draw attention to Ku (emptiness) and Mu (nothingness), and blank space inspired by Zen.
